Developing a national strategy for in vivo cell engineering
In vivo cell engineering opens up new avenues for the development of innovative biomedicines. France BioLead, UNITC and the Carnot Institute CALYM are spearheading an ambitious collaborative project: to establish a national alliance dedicated to in vivo cell engineering. By bringing together public and private sector stakeholders around shared objectives, the project aims to position France amongst the leaders in this new generation of cell therapies.
At the heart of the project is the aim to advance three in vivo CAR candidates developed and produced in France. The ambition is to capitalise on the technologies, expertise and intellectual property assets already available within the French ecosystem, and then to combine and evaluate these various technological building blocks. The approach should also enable the identification and mobilisation of the funding essential for progressing to the next stages of development.
