Biomanufacturing of biomedicines is a key component of our healthcare system and a strategic sector for France.
Biomedicines are a new generation of therapies whose active ingredients come from living organisms (most often mammalian cells or bacteria). They differ from medicines whose active ingredients are chemically synthesized.
They fall into three main categories: vaccines, antibodies, and innovative therapeutic medicines (MTIs), such as gene and cell therapies.
