MARSEILLE IMMUNOLOGY BIOCLUSTER (MIB)
Description
🎓 The Marseille Immunology Biocluster project (“MIB”) aims to contribute to France’s sovereignty in the field of healthcare.
🧬 Coordinated by Aix-Marseille University and involving around twenty partners (Big Pharma, biotech companies, research organizations, hospital institutions, technology transfer structures, local authorities, etc.), it is backed by a €96 million budget driven by the French government under the France 2030 plan to develop medicines in the field of immunotherapy.
🤝 Located in the heart of Marseille—an area with over 40 years of immunology research—MIB’s mission is to implement and strengthen cooperation among all stakeholders serving the immunology of tomorrow at the national, European, and international levels.
🔬 Both a biocluster and an innovation catalyst, MIB brings together leading scientists, clinicians, and industry players to accelerate the emergence of new antibody-based therapies for the benefit of patients and to push the boundaries of healthcare innovation.
👨‍🔬👩‍🔬 Researchers, hospital practitioners, industry professionals, investors, students, and public authorities will benefit from optimal conditions (technology platforms, an immunology start-up studio, innovation support for SMEs and mid-sized companies, etc.) to accelerate translational research in immunology, focusing on four therapeutic areas: oncology, infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory conditions.
🌍 Our pragmatic approach, aimed at developing innovative therapies, will strengthen Marseille’s position as a global hub for immunology research and contribute to France’s scientific influence worldwide.
