"The young company aims to mass-produce a new generation of sensors designed for biopharmaceutical manufacturing. The project is supported by the French government and key players in France's biomanufacturing sector.
Founded in June 2025, La Rochelle-based Calipso Sensors is preparing to scale up production of a miniature sensor capable of monitoring biopharmaceutical manufacturing in real time. The technology was developed over five years as part of the collaborative Calipso program, which received €17 million in funding, including more than €8 million in public support.
The initiative brings together several major industry players, including Sanofi, CEA-Leti (a research and technology institute specializing in micro- and nanotechnologies), Capgemini, Ypso-Facto, and France BioLead. Their shared objective is to make French biomanufacturing more efficient while reducing its dependence on foreign technologies."
